Thank You...

You are making a courageous, loving, selfless decision. It can't be easy, but what you are doing is so incredible, and we are thankful for you. We want you to make the best decision for you and your family. We’re glad that you’re taking the time to get to know us and our family.

It has always been our dream to become parents. We’ve been incredibly blessed in our lives, but one blessing we haven’t had is the gift of a child. After many attempts and even many doctor visits, we haven’t been able to conceive. Throughout the heartbreak, God has led us to realize that his plan for us is to share our love with a child through adoption.

We are Jacob and Elizabeth. We met in 2004 while we were in college in Minnesota. Jacob was a Junior and I, Elizabeth, a Sophomore. We shared the same physics class and Jacob practiced with the girls’ soccer team on which I played. We quickly became friends and then started dating. On May 5, 2006, Jacob took me on a walk where he worked up the courage to propose and asked me to marry him. We were married in Louisiana, June 30, 2007, with our close friends and family there to celebrate.

Family and faith are the most important to Jacob.  He grew up in a busy and close family of 6. Jacob is a pastor at a local church. He enjoys having a job that allows him to be able to help others realize that there is hope in this world that can be found through Jesus Christ.  Additionally, Jacob loves the flexibility in his job. During his down time, Jacob enjoys working on the yard, grilling all different kinds of foods, hunting and fishing, brewing beer and watching others enjoy his craft.

I am the youngest of five children raised in a God-fearing house. I graduated with a teaching degree. I enjoy gardening, painting, cooking and building projects.

Together we relax by: watching some of our favorite shows; watching, playing and coaching sports; and hiking and traveling from place to place. Sometimes we just explore nearby areas while other times we plan longer trips around our country to explore everything our land has to offer. We love to cheer on our favorite college team, Louisiana State University (LSU), and our favorite professional football team, Denver Broncos. We also enjoy watching all levels of soccer.

Stella is our canine member of the family. She is a nine-year-old lab/whippet mix. She loves playing fetch and swimming, but also hates being wet, try and figure that one out. She is a puppy at heart. She loves children and is very gentle with them and patient. We brought her in when she was one and half-years-old and she has been a joy and a source of entertainment for our family.

We were raised in loving and supportive families; we want to create that same atmosphere for our family. First and foremost, we will shower your child with the same unconditional love that you have shown. We will model for them a love for their Savior, and we will teach them to show kindness and compassion to others. We will continually remind them of who they truly are, a dearly loved child of God and a precious gift from him. We also believe in the importance of telling your child about you and your selfless act of unconditional love. Sharing with them their birth and adoption story will be a privilege for us and will help them to see how loved they are, by you and us. We promise to do all we can for you and your family to support you as you continue to build the kind of relationship that you desire with your child.

We are overjoyed to be able to grow our family through adoption and to have your child in our home and our lives. Thank you again for taking the time to learn more about our family. Thank you for your courageous, selfless, and loving decision. You are in our constant thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Elizabeth + Jacob
